I’m gonna have to go with Arkansas. According to both the Wiki and my memory, Linnell plays a section of it after he sings a line in State Songs.
The question was confusing, though, and I’m probably wrong.

Ahh, by ’state songs’ I meant The Songs of the 50 States. And Fruvous = win.

Awesome. I feel the strange over-powering need for a Coke.
Eck gham, dude – I am going to go get a cold frosty Coke.

the tune in “Arkansas” from the lines “the designers of the Arkansas…” is playes on the horns at the very end of “The Songs of the 50 States” on John Linnell’s ‘State Songs’ EP

Augh… I was listening to the podcast and heard the trivia question… I was so excited because I knew the answer and accidentally clicked the “Comments” button, forgetting it would make me lose my place on the player…
It was Arkansas. Meh. >_O

Of course when I get the time to listen… I know the answer..!
“Arkansas”/”Songs Of The 50 States”, of course.
But everyone already knew that.
Ah well.
Great podcast.
Maybe I’ll try a little harder next time.

Nice show, but just a note of caution – the version of Tryptophane included in this podcast episode is actually the studio version released by Mono Puff. And just so you know in the future, homemade Dial-A-Song recordings are never this high quality. :)

it is in the work. I will post the full up at my myspace band of my name.
If you would post this demo that would be awsome.

I’ve only found this podcast recently, and I’m listening to six or seven shows a day. It’s a real delight to discover Moxy Fruvous (another favorite) here. At this point, I’m hesitating to point anyone to The Bobs (yet another favorite) who have referred to themselves as the world’s only a cappella TMBG tribute band. It might be here in an upcoming show, so I’m just gonna wait till I get current with this podcast to say any more. TMBG had a song by The Bobs play during the intermission after an opening act at a Hollywood House of Blues show a bunch of years ago, so I think the Johns know The Bobs.

Just started listening a year too late!
I heard that TMBG Coca-Cola (the second one you played) commercial on the radio in Portland, Oregon about ten years ago. I’ve got it recorded on a mix tape somewhere with “They Might Be Coca Cola?” written as the title.
